After you define your organization’s labor metrics and shift definitions, you can configure a shift rotation that orders the shift definitions and corresponding labor metrics for each day in a repeating pattern. The settings in this tab are described in Shift Rotation Settings.
Before You Begin: Configure shift definitions and labor metrics. Configure Shift Definitions for Shift Rotations and Configure Labor Metrics for Shift Rotations.
Role feature access: Schedule Planning > Scheduling Plan > Shift Setup > Shift Rotation
To configure a shift rotation:
- Go to Scheduling Plan > Shift Setup and click the Shift Rotation tab.
- Click Add.
- Enter a name and, optionally, a description for the shift rotation.
- Select the locations that the shift rotation applies to.
- In the Rotation Days field, enter the number of days in the shift rotation.
- (Optional) To assign the shift in the rotation on holidays, select the Create Shift on Holidays checkbox. Clear the checkbox and the rotation skips holidays.
- Enter an effective start date and, optionally, an effective end date.
- (Optional) Enter a cross-reference code in the Reference Code field. This code must be unique and must not contain special characters.
- Enter values in the Business Day Start, Holiday Start Time, Shift Start Tolerance, and Shift End Tolerance fields.
- In the Shift Rotation Details section:
- Select an option in the Shift Definition drop-down list.
- (Optional) Select an option in the Shift Labor drop-down list and enter a cross-reference code.
- (Optional) In the Shift Rotation Segment Details section:
- Click Add.
- Enter the segment’s start time.
- Select the shift labor for the segment.
- Note: The shift labor in this field must match the shift labor that you selected in the Shift Labor field in the Shift Rotation Details section, if configured.
- Click Save.
