Service patterns define a location’s relative staffing needs in specified increments, and Dayforce uses them to distribute planned labor throughout the day.
To configure service patterns:
- Go to Plan Setup > Service Patterns and click Add.
- Enter a name and, optionally, a description of the service pattern.
- Select the organizations that the service pattern applies to. You can define a service pattern for your entire organization, an entire group of locations, or for individual locations.
- In the Granularity drop-down list, select the service pattern’s granularity.
- Enter the service pattern’s start and end dates.
- Select the days of the week that the service pattern applies to.
- (Optional) In the Reference Code field, enter a cross-reference. This code must be unique and must not contain special characters.
- Point the cursor at the time that the service pattern starts. Dayforce labels every hour along the bottom.
- Click and hold the mouse, drawing a curve across the day:
-
- Draw the curve so that the highest points in the curve correspond to the busiest times in the location. Release the mouse to accept the curve. You can redraw the curve from start to finish or edit it by clicking above or below the curve on a quarter-hour segment to raise or lower the curve during that time.
- Click Save.
