Configure QMCSO Notifications

In Benefits Setup > Notifications > Qualified Medical Child Support Order, you can configure notifications that inform employees when a Qualified Medical Child Support Order (QMCSO) is initiated or terminated for a dependent. These notifications help ensure compliance with legal requirements and keep employees informed about changes to their dependent coverage due to court orders. This subfeature includes default content that’s already configured. You can customize the subject and body of each notification message.

Role feature access: Benefits Setup > Notifications > Qualified Medical Child Support Order

Employees and additional recipients receive two types of notifications:

  • Initiate Order: Dayforce sends this notification when you create a QMCSO record for a dependent.
  • Terminate Order: Dayforce sends this notification when you terminate a QMCSO for a dependent.

To configure QMCSO notifications:

  1. Go to Benefits Setup > Notifications > Qualified Medical Child Support Order.
  2. Click Configure next to Initiate Order or Terminate Order.
  3. In the General section, use the Enable Notification switch to activate the notification.
    • In the Recipient Role drop-down list, select any additional roles that should receive the notification, in addition to the employee.
  4. In the Notification Content section, configure the following details:
    • Subject: The subject line of the notification. The maximum limit is 256 characters. Use the {Name} and {EmployeeNumber} tags to show the employee’s details.
    • Body: The main content of the notification. Use the {Employee QMCSO Details} tag to show the following QMCSO details:
      • Employee name
      • Employee number
      • QMCSO effective date
      • Dependent name
      • Dependent relationship
      • Plan options
      • Effective dates for the plan options
    • Important: You can localize the subject and body of the notification by clicking Localize.
    • Revert to Default: Resets the subject and body of the notification to the default text.
  5. Click Save.

Employees can find QMCSO notifications in Message Center. They also receive email notifications if a valid email address is configured in Dayforce, and email notifications are enabled. See Enable Email Notifications. Additional recipient roles receive notifications only in Message Center.
