To set up your organization’s operating hours for the first time, or to initialize a new region, you define the operating hours without using an existing pattern.
To configure an operating hours pattern:
- Go to Plan Setup > Operating Hours and click New. The Create Operating Hours wizard opens.
- In the Effective Dates fields, enter the date on which the operating hours come into effect and, optionally, the date on which the hours end.
- In the Assigned Locations field, select the locations that will receive the scheduled operating hours. Dayforce applies the hours to each location in or under the selected organizational group.
- Click Next. Modify the operating hours using the following methods:
- Stretch or shrink the green bar representing the operating hours to increase or decrease the length of time that the location is open each day. Click either edge of the green bar and drag right or left. The bar stretches or shrinks, representing the change to the operating hours.
- Note: You can drag the bar past midnight to have a shift end on the next day.
- To mark a day as closed or to reopen a previously closed day, click the Day switch.
- To copy the operating hours from the previous day, click Copy Previous.
- Click Next.
- In the Exceptions screen, define any exceptions to your store’s regular operating hours as follows:
- To define a one-time exception:
- In the One-Time Exception tab, enter a name and description.
- In the Date field, enter the exception date.
- To define the operating hours for the exception, resize the bar.
- To define a recurring exception:
- In the Recurring Exception tab, enter a name and description.
- In the Effective Date fields, enter the date on which the recurrence begins and, optionally, the date on which the recurrence ends.
- In the Recurrence Type field, select Monthly, Weekly, or Daily.
- In the Recurrence drop-down list, select how often the exception occurs. This drop-down list is only shown when you create a monthly or weekly recurrence.
- In the Day of the Month field, select the days on which the exception occurs. This field is shown only when you create a monthly or weekly recurrence.
- Resize the bar to define the operating hours for the exception.
- To define a one-time exception:
- Click Next. Dayforce shows a preview of the operating hours.
- Click Next. Dayforce shows a summary of the new operating hours.
- Click Finish.
