Labor metrics describe how worked time was spent during a shift rotation, for accounting or reporting purposes. By accurately recording the labor metrics for shift rotations, management can review how much labor is spent on certain job assignments or against specific pay codes. You can define as many labor metrics as your organization needs in Scheduling Plan.
To configure a shift rotation’s labor metrics:
- Go to Scheduling Plan > Shift Setup and click the Shift Labor tab.
- Click Add.
- Enter a name and, optionally, a description of the labor metric.
- (Optional) In the Reference Code field, enter a cross-reference code. This code must be unique and must not contain special characters.
- In the Job Assignment drop-down list, select which job assignment employees work when assigned to shift rotations with the labor metric.
- (Optional) Select which pay code, docket, and project represent the time spent working the rotation.
- In the Additional Labor Metrics section, click Add and select a labor metrics type and a labor metrics code.
- Note: You configure labor metric types and codes in Org Setup > Labor Metrics. See Configure User-Defined Labor Metrics.
- Click Save. Dayforce shows the number of additional labor metrics that you created in the Additional Labor Metrics column.
