Labor metric types are groups of similar labor metric codes in Dayforce. These labor metric types are available throughout Dayforce in drop-down lists from which you can select specific labor metric codes. The following screenshot of the Labor Metric Types tab in Org Setup > Labor Metrics shows three labor metric types set up:
When you configure user-defined labor metric types in Org Setup > Labor Metrics, you have to include a reference code in the Reference Code field in the Labor Metric Types tab for the labor metrics info to appear in the Employee Preview slide-out panel in the GL Preview tab and on earning statements.
To configure a labor metric type:
- Go to Org Setup > Labor Metrics and click the Labor Metrics Types tab.
- Click Add.
- In the Name field, enter a descriptive name.
- In the Reference Code field, enter a reference code. This code must be unique and must not contain special characters.
- (Optional) Enter a description and clock code in the corresponding fields.
- In the Icon field, select an icon in the drop-down list (if you don’t select an icon, Dayforce shows a blue book icon
on the timesheet):
-
- Click Save.
To remove a labor metric type from the list, select it and then click Delete. If a labor metric type has multiple labor metric codes associated with it, you must delete them first. Also, if the labor metric type is included in a time entry policy or default labor, you must remove the reference prior to deletion.
To create a copy of an existing labor metric type, select the type in the list and then click Copy.
