Configure Labor Deployment Policies

To configure a labor deployment policy:

  1. Go to Plan Setup > Labor Deployment.
  2. Click Add. A slide-out panel opens:
  3. Enter a name and, optionally, a description for the policy.
  4. In the Zone drop-down list, select which zone’s labor deployment the policy controls.
  5. In the Start Date field, specify when the policy becomes effective. If the policy is effective only for part of the year, the policy’s effective range starts on the same date every year.
  6. In the End Date drop-down lists, select the last day that the policy is effective. If the policy is effective for the entire year, select December 31.
  7. In the Organization field, select which organizations use the labor deployment policy.
  8. In the Interval Size drop-down list, select how often the labor curve’s height can change. For example, if you select On the 60 minute mark, Dayforce changes the labor curve’s height only on the hour.
  9. Note: As the interval size increases, precision decreases, which can result in up to an hour being lost. For example, say that you select On the 60 minute mark and allocate 12.8 hours to a curve. Because the curve can have only one-hour increments, Dayforce allocates 12 hours and 0.8 hours is lost.
  10. Select the Business Day Aligned checkbox. When selected, Dayforce looks at the location’s business day alignment and adjusts for it when deleting labor that could spill into the current week from last week, leaving any labor from 12:00 AM on the last day of the week to the start time on the first day of the current week.
  11. Click Save.

Next, you must add a ruleset to the policy. See Add Rulesets to Labor Deployment Policies.
