Configure Countries for Employment Indicators

You can configure employment indicators to be available based on the country that employees operate in. This is configured by selecting one or more countries in the Country column of the Employment Indicator tab in Org Setup > Jobs and Job Assignments. This column is cleared by default. If you leave this column cleared, the employment indicator is available regardless of country.

This functionality is enforced in the following areas:

  • In the job assignment details of the Jobs and Job Assignments tab in Org Setup > Jobs and Job Assignments. If an option is selected in the Pay Group drop-down list of the job assignment details, the Employment Indicator drop-down list shows employment indicators that are assigned the same country as the selected pay group and employment indicators that don’t have a country assigned. Employment indicators that are assigned a country that doesn’t match the employee’s assigned pay group aren’t shown.
  • In the following areas where employee details can be updated:
    • The Work > Work Assignments screen in People.
    • Self-service forms, including the Job Assignment and Compensation Change and Job Assignment Change forms.
    • The Edit wizard opened from the People List screen of People.
  • In each area, the Employment Indicator drop-down list shows employment indicators that are assigned the same country as the employee's assigned pay group and employment indicators that don’t have a country assigned. Employment indicators that are assigned a country that doesn’t match the employee’s assigned pay group aren’t shown.

Note: Country assignment for employment indicators isn’t enforced in the HR Import or HR Data Config import.

If a job assignment or employee isn’t assigned a pay group, the Employment Indicator drop-down list in each area shows only employment indicators that don’t have countries configured.

Also, Dayforce shows a validation error message if you change the pay group assigned to the job assignment or employee to one where the employment indicator that has already been selected isn’t configured.
