You can configure Dayforce to accept overlapping time away from work requests. This allows employees to enter a time off request more than once for the same date and time range.
For example, with concurrent time off functionality configured in Dayforce, an employee can take a medical leave using one balance (for example, the FMLA balance) but also use sick hours concurrently while on medical leave (using a different pay code, such as Sick-FMLA). In this situation, you’d configure Dayforce so that the hours are deducted from the FMLA balance when an employee requests time off using the Sick-FMLA balance.
To configure concurrent time away from pay codes:
- Go to Time Away From Work > Time Off Policy.
- In the left side panel, select the time off policy that you want to modify.
- Go to the Concurrent Time Off section.
- Click Add.
- In the Source Pay Code drop-down list, select the source pay code. Using the example above, you would select the Sick-FMLA pay code.
- In the Concurrent Pay Code drop-down list, select a concurrent pay code. Using the example above, you would select the FMLA pay code.
- Click Save.
