Complementary hours are the hours that employees work in addition to the agreed upon normal hours for a contract. You configure complementary hours when you configure work contracts.
There are limits around the amount of complementary hours that employees can work and they can opt out of their complementary hours agreement. Additionally, there are voluntary complementary hours which aren’t scheduled, but tracked. These hours are agreed upon between employers and employees to extend existing shifts during busy times.
This topic describes the parts of work contract configuration that you must configure when you use complementary hours, it doesn’t describe all steps required to configure work contracts. See Work Contracts Configuration.
