Configure Base Rate Sets

Base rate sets group a series of levels through which employees can progress incrementally, so that their base rate changes over time. Each level can have one or more rates associated with it, which can either be a set rate, or an increase (either incremented or multiplied) to their existing rate.

Each rate also has a step value associated with it. This step value is the threshold an employee must reach before they are entitled to the specified base rate or increase. The unit associated with a step value (such as years of service or worked hours) is defined in the base rate policy for that base rate set. See Configure Base Rate Policies.

To configure base rate sets:

  1. Go to Pay Setup > Base Rate Set and click the Base Rate Sets tab.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter a name and, optionally, a description of the base rate set.
  4. (Optional) In the Reference Code field, enter a cross-reference code. This code must be unique and must not contain special characters.
  5. Click Save.
