Configure Attendance Rule Policies

In Pay Setup > Attendance, you can configure an attendance rule policy. An attendance rule policy is similar to an attendance policy, but it uses ruleset hierarchies containing rules and qualifiers to customize how Dayforce tracks your employees’ attendance. Configuring an attendance rule policy involves setting up a combination of decrement, grade, incident type, and violation rulesets in the Attendance Rule Policy tab that can create specific conditions that guide and track your employees’ attendance.

Each attendance rule has similar settings to what’s available if you configure the equivalent attendance function in your attendance policy. For example, the Violation Rule has most of the same settings that are available if you configure attendance violations in Pay Setup > Attendance in the Attendance Policy tab, in the Violation sub-tab. Note: Remember, if you create an attendance rule policy, you don’t have to configure any of the attendance policy-specific settings that are available in the sub-tabs of the Attendance Policy tab.
