In Dayforce, you can configure activities for managers to use in Schedules to keep track of important tasks that employees must perform during their shifts.
Before You Begin: For descriptions of the settings in this feature, see Activity Settings.
To set up an activity:
- Go to Schedule Setup > Activities click Add.
- Enter a name and a description for the activity.
- If the time scheduled to work this activity represents ’non-service’ hours, select the Is Non Service checkbox. This option is used only if your organization distinguishes between service and non-service hours in its labor budgeting and forecasting.
- In the Image Path drop-down list, select an image to represent the activity.
- (Optional) In the Short Code field, enter a single letter to represent the activity.
- In the Zone drop-down list, select the zone that the activity belongs to.
- Use the Hue checkbox to specify how Dayforce assigns a color to the activity in Schedules:
- Select the checkbox and Dayforce color codes activities using the color specified next to the checkbox.
- Clear the checkbox and Dayforce uses the same color for the activity as it assigned to the shift.
- In the Min Duration (minutes) field, enter the activity’s minimum duration.
- Use the Is Covered By Breaks and Is Covered By Meals checkboxes to specify whether breaks and meals satisfy base coverage for the activity.
- In the Rank Value field, enter the activity’s rank value.
- (Optional) Enter a cross-reference code. This code must be unique and must not contain special characters.
- Click Save.
You can limit activities to certain job assignments. See Configure Job Assignment Activities.
