Before You Begin: The option to set up certified payroll groups must be enabled by a support user role before it becomes available in an organization's instance of Dayforce.
Pay groups can be configured to use certified payrolls. Certified payrolls are mappings of earnings and deductions used in Dayforce to track and export Davis-Bacon Data, which payroll administrators can submit to state and federal government agencies.
When a payroll administrator commits a pay run for a pay group that has been associated with a certified payroll export configuration, the Certified Payroll Export background job is triggered. This background job exports the mapping of earnings and deductions as a CSV file.
It is possible to run the Certified Payroll Export background job manually in System Admin > Background Jobs. The job returns information about the earnings and deductions that are mapped in Payroll Setup > Certified Payrolls. See Certified Payroll Export.
In order for Payroll to trigger the Certified Payroll Export background job, you must follow these configuration steps:
- Create Certified Payroll Export Configurations: Create a certified payroll export configuration that you can then apply to one or more pay groups.
- Apply Certified Payroll Mappings to Pay Groups: Assign the certified payroll export configuration that you created to one or more pay groups that you can then include in a project to generate the certified payroll export.
- Associate Certified Payroll Export Configurations with Projects: Create a top level or child project associated with the appropriate organization level and assign the certified payroll export configuration to it.
