The Calculate Otherwise Work Day Dates background job calculates an employee’s otherwise working day (OWD) based on a historical working pattern. An otherwise working day is a day that an employee would typically be scheduled to work if it wasn’t a public holiday or leave day.
Dayforce also uses the data calculated by this background job to determine if entitlement rules qualify based on the employee’s otherwise working day. See Otherwise Working Day Qualifier.
Before You Begin: This background job is available only for organizations in Australia and New Zealand. Further, it requires prerequisite configuration in other features within Dayforce:
- In Time Away From Work > Time Off Policy, a time off policy must be configured with Otherwise Working Day selected in one of the Days or Weeks calculation lists in the Time Calculation section. See the “Week and Day Calculations” section in Time Calculation Settings.
- Similarly, in Time Away From Work > Time Off Policy, the Otherwise Working Day section must be configured. See Calculation for the Otherwise Working Day.
- Your employees must be assigned the appropriate time off policy.
