Benefits Update Coverage and Rates

This job recalculates coverage and rates associated with active benefit elections for included employees who are enrolled in the selected options. Dayforce evaluates elections on the As Of Date that you enter.

The job runs based on the selected date and option. It can either commit changes automatically or require approval from a benefits administrator or another authorized user. You can approve changes en masse in Benefits Administration > Recalculation Results, or individually in the Benefits > Benefit Recalculation Results screen in People.

See Review Recalculation Results or Benefit Recalculation Results in the Benefits Administration Guide.

Important: This job doesn’t evaluate eligibility, so it can’t be used to recalculate options with qualifier-based rate tables or to move employees from one rate to another. To evaluate eligibility, run the Benefits Re-Calculate Plans background job.

As Of Date

Enter or select the date for which coverage and rates are calculated.

When the job is initiated, it recalculates all existing active election changes as of the defined As Of Date. The As Of Date is the date used to run the eligibility; if a change is detected, a new election record is generated with an effective start date that’s equal to the As Of Date.

Auto Commit Changes

Select the checkbox, and changes made by the recalculation are automatically saved to the affected employee’s records. Clear the checkbox, and a benefits administrator or other user with appropriate access must review and approve changes before they’re committed.

See Review Recalculation Results in the Benefits Administration Guide.

Option(s) to Recalc Select one or more plan options to be included in the recalculation, to limit the recalculation process to specific plan options.
Only Recalc Options that reference a Payroll Earnings Grouping Select the checkbox, and Dayforce restricts the recalculation process to only those Life & Disability plan options that are configured with a coverage expression that references an earning grouping.
Enter a date to override the Default Start Date By default, the payroll grouping values are calculated for the accumulation period based on the effective start of the associated election. Enter or select a date to calculate the value based on the specified date.

Note: When you schedule this background job, the Enter a date to override the Default Start Date setting is unavailable.
