Benefits Templates

The enrollment summary templates that you configure in Benefits Setup > Templates apply only to the display of the summaries in the History tab of Benefits that have the label Benefits Election Update.

The summaries in the History tab with the name of an enrollment, and those shown within enrollments, use the templates configured in the Summary tab of Benefits Setup > Enrollments. See Configure the Summary.

In Benefits Setup > Templates, you can configure the templates that show current elections and election update information in Benefits. When you add a template, you can select one of the two template types.

Benefit template types
Template Type Description
Benefit Election Controls how Dayforce shows information about employees' current and future elections, including any related documents that are associated with the plan that an employee is enrolled in. Employees access this information in Benefits > Current Elections. The templates that you configure here apply to the display of the Current Elections tab.
Enrollment Summary

Controls how Dayforce shows information about employees' benefits election updates. These are updates to employees' elections, which are the result of system changes that occur when plans are recalculated or rates are changed. Employees access this information in Benefits > History. The templates that you configure here apply to the display of the summaries with the label Benefits Election Update.

The templates that you configure for benefits election update summaries are only used for summaries generated after you’ve configured and saved the template. Previously existing summaries don’t use the template even if you back-date it.

Note: Logos aren't configured as part of the template setup. You can configure enrollment summaries to show a logo by defining a Benefit Summary Logo in the Images tab of Site Setup > Client. See Add a Logo or Signature.

Depending on where your organization offers benefits, you can set up templates for Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. You can set up as many templates as you like, but each country selection can only have one effective template of each type at a time. For example, you can have one effective benefit election template and one effective enrollment summary template for Canada at a given time.

After configuring the benefits templates, you can:

  • Localize the text in the Name, Description, Header, and Footer fields of a template.
  • Edit a template. When editing a template, you can’t change the template type or country selection. Also, the effective dates of the template can’t overlap with another template of the same type for the same country selection.
  • Copy a template. When copying a template, you can’t change the template type. Also, the effective dates of the template can’t overlap with another template of the same type for the same country selection.
  • Delete a template.
