Benefit Properties

In Benefits Setup > Benefit Properties, you can set up certificate numbers to associate with employees and define at the employee level.

Two types of settings show in Benefit Properties:

  • Certificate Number: These fields are editable, and you can define as many of these as your organization requires.
  • System: You cannot add or edit these.

When you add a certificate number property to an employee's profile, the value that you add is the policy number of the benefit plan. This information is transmitted in exports to the carrier.

Dayforce comes configured with one system benefit property: benefit compensation. When you associate this property with an employee, the value (an amount) that you define in the employee profile can be used in coverage expressions.

When you have set up benefit properties, you can associate them with employees in the Benefits > Benefit Properties screen of People.

After configuring benefit properties, you can:

  • Edit all of the field properties.
  • Localize the text in the Name and Description fields. You cannot localize system benefit properties.
  • Delete any certificate number benefit property, as long as it's not in use. If a benefit property is in use, the Delete button isn't enabled. You can also delete multiple certificate number properties at once.

The following topics describe how to configure benefit properties:
