When auto inject settings are configured as follows:
- The Auto Inject Meals checkbox is selected.
- The Meal Allocation section contains the following setting configuration:
- Qualifying Shift Length is set to 5.
- Duration is set to 30.
- Occurrences is set to 1.
An employee is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a meal scheduled at 12:30. The employee has a doctor's appointment, and ends up working from noon until 6:00 PM and doesn’t clock out for a meal.
Because the employee worked a six hour shift, longer than the configured Qualifying Shift Length value, and the Auto Inject Meals checkbox is selected, Dayforce records a 30 minute meal, because the Duration setting is set to 30. Dayforce records the meal in the employee's time and attendance records during the middle of the employee’s worked shift.
Given the same scenario, if the Auto Inject Meal/Break Using Schedule checkbox was selected, Dayforce still injects a 30 minute meal, but it records it at 12:30, when the meal was scheduled.
