Assign the Schedule Approval Role Features and Authorizations

For any user roles that will use workflows for time away from work, you must enable the appropriate role features.

As the schedule approval workflow functionality relies on the base schedule approval functionality, you must first enable the base schedule approval features and authorizations.

In System Admin > Roles:

  • In the Features tab, assign the Schedules > Post Schedules feature and its Schedule Approval sub-feature to the user roles responsible for submitting and approving schedules. For example, if Department Managers create and submit schedules for approval, and Store Managers approve them, assign these features to both user roles
  • In the Authorizations tab, assign the Submit Schedule for Approval authorization to the user roles who submit schedules for approval, but not to the ones who approve schedules. In the example above, this authorization would be assigned to the Department Manager role, but not the Store Manager one.

Next, to enable the workflow specific role features, in System AdminRoles in the Features tab, assign the Schedules > Forms Action feature to the necessary user roles.
