Assign KPI Labor Metrics to Appropriate KPIs

After you configure KPI labor metrics in Plan Setup > KPI Labor Metric, you need to assign them to KPIs to be used for the scheduled or actual cost in Plan Setup > KPI Metadata.

OT Hours KPI labor metric assigned to the Labor Cost KPI.

In the screenshot above, the OT Hours KPI labor metric is assigned to the Labor Cost KPI. Because the Actual Cost checkbox is selected, Dayforce uses the metric’s eligible time for the Labor Cost KPI in the Actual forma and column in the Plan feature.

For KPIs that are measured in hours instead of a dollar amount, you can configure Dayforce so that it uses the hours component of eligible time for a KPI. This is configured by selecting the Cost in Hours checkbox. For example, with the Labor Hours KPI, which measures the cost of a schedule in hours, select the Scheduled Cost and Cost in Hours checkboxes to configure Dayforce to take the number of hours of eligible time (as defined in the KPI Labor Metric drop-down list) for the Schedule forma and column in Plan.

See The Cost Settings Tab.

To assign KPI labor metrics to KPIs:

  1. Go to Plan Setup > KPI Metadata and click the Cost Settings tab.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Select a KPI and a KPI labor metric in the drop-down lists.
  4. (Optional) Select the following checkboxes:
    • Scheduled Cost: Use the group’s eligible pay metrics for the KPI’s scheduled cost.
    • Actual Cost: Use the group’s eligible pay metrics for the KPI’s actual cost.
    • Cost In Hours (Instead of Amount): Use the hours from the eligible time for the KPI. Select this checkbox for KPIs measured in hours.
  5. Click Save.
