This section describes how to assign individual employees to delivery packages that are configured to send checks, deposit advices, and tax forms directly to employees by national postal service.
Dayforce sends checks, direct deposit advices, and tax statements directly to assigned employees based on how you configure delivery packages and employee addresses. Employee's items are included in a delivery package if:
- The Payroll - Mailing option is selected in the Package Type drop-down list in the Delivery Packages tab of Payroll Setup > Report Output.
- The employee is assigned the delivery package in the Checks and Deposit Advices or Tax Statements sections in the Delivery Packages tab of Payroll Setup > Report Output.
- The employee has an address configured in the Payroll Mailing field of the Addresses section in the Personal > Contact Information screen of People. If the employee does not have a payroll mailing address configured, or has a mailing address in a country that is different from their pay group, the application sends their items to their pay group's default delivery package mailing address.
For example, Marissa has an address configured as a payroll mailing address, and is assigned to the Payroll - Mailing delivery package in the Checks and Deposit Advices and Tax Statements tabs of the Delivery Packages tab of Payroll Setup > Report Output. With this configuration, Marissa's checks, deposit advices, and tax forms are sent directly to her mailing address.
To assign employees to delivery packages:
- Go to Payroll Setup > Report Output.
- Select a delivery package configured with the Payroll - Mailing package type option.
- In the Checks and Deposit Advices section, in the Organizations field, the org icon.
- The application displays the organizational hierarchy.
- Select an org unit, clicking the plus sign (+) to expand the hierarchy and then click OK.
- You can select a specific, physical location to assign or select a group, such as a district or region, to include it and all of the org units under it in the delivery package.
- For example, if you select the Ontario organizational unit, which contains 10 locations underneath it, you are assigning all 10 locations to the delivery package.
- Click Choose Employees to open the Choose Employees dialog box.
- Select an employee, or press and hold the Ctrl key to select multiple employees, and then click Add to move the selections to the Selected Employees section. Click Select. The application displays the selected employees in the Checks and Deposit Advices section.
- Click Save.
Note: A terminated employee's assigned delivery package can be overridden in the Delivery Packages tab of Pay Setup > Pay Group to send their items to a different delivery location. See Assign a Delivery Package to a Pay Group.
