After you have configured deferred compensation plans and pension plans, you can associate the plans with the employees to which they apply. Note that deferred compensation and pension plans aren’t assigned directly to employees. Instead, you assign the earning and deduction codes that are configured in the deferred compensation and pension plan to the employees as payroll elections.
To associate earning or deduction codes or groupings to an employee as a payroll election, you must load the employee in the People feature, click Payroll > Payroll Elections in the sidebar, and add the earnings and deductions to the employee's record.
