Add UK Pension Staging and Re-Enrolment Dates

In Pension Auto-Enrolment > Setup, you can add, view, and edit your staging date/previous re-enrolment date and next re-enrolment date in the Re-enrolment tab.

When you access this feature for the first time, you must enter a value in the Staging Date/Previous Re-enrolment Date field before you can enter anything in the Next Re-enrolment Date field. This allows Dayforce to make only the appropriate dates available in the latter field. That is, dates that fall within three months before or after the third anniversary of your staging/previous re-enrolment date.

Note: Ideally, the next re-enrolment date should align with the beginning of a pay period.

When employees have been assessed in the pay period that corresponds to the date in the Next Re-enrolment Date field, that date automatically replaces the existing Staging Date/Previous Re-enrolment Date value, and the field becomes read only. The Next Re-enrolment Date field is then left empty, so that you can enter the new date, and the range of available re-enrolment dates are based on the date of the previous re-enrolment.

For example, your current staging or previous re-enrolment date is January 1, 2018, and your next re-enrolment date is March 9, 2021. When employees are assessed in the pay period that corresponds to March 9, 2021, that date is displayed in the Staging Date/Previous Re-enrolment Date field and the Next Re-enrolment Date field remains empty.

To add staging and re-enrolment dates for your auto-enrolled pension schemes:

  1. Go to Pension Auto-Enrolment > Setup.
  2. Click the Re-enrolment tab.
  3. Click Add and select a pension plan.
  4. In the Staging Date/Previous Re-enrolment Date field, enter or select your staging/duties date or the date of your most recent re-enrolment.
  5. In the Next Re-enrolment Date field, enter or select the date of your next re-enrolment.
  6. Select the Include employees in the re-enrolment whose opted-out or ceased membership notification date is less than 12 months prior to the 'Next Re-enrolment Date' checkbox to include employees who fall into this category in the re-enrolment.
  7. Click Save.

You should update these dates for every re-enrolment period, but you can edit one or both of these dates at any point.
