Add Rulesets to Attendance Rule Policies

Rulesets group the attendance rules and qualifiers in a hierarchy that Dayforce processes in sequence when compiling attendance data.

For example, you can create different attendance incident requirements for full-time, contract, and part-time employees. To do this, you can configure three rulesets in the Incident Type tab and add the Seniority Qualifier to each ruleset so that they apply only for the relevant employees.

Another example is how you might configure grade tracks using the rulesets and rules in the Grade tab. You can create separate rulesets for the “Tardy” and “Absence” grade tracks and cater each grouping to your requirements:

To add a ruleset to an attendance rule policy:

  1. Go to Pay Setup > Attendance and click the Attendance Rule Policy tab.
  2. Select an attendance rule policy. A slide-out panel opens.
  3. Click one of the following tabs, depending on the type of ruleset that you want to configure:
    • Incident Type
    • Violation
    • Grade
    • Decrement
  4. In the left panel, click the add icon () and then click Ruleset.
  5. Enter a name and, optionally, a description for the ruleset.
  6. Click Save.

Next, you must add rules to the ruleset.
