Schedule change rules determine which schedule changes trigger problems. For example, the Shift Lockdown Period Rule specifies the time ranges when you can’t modify shifts, while the Late Schedule Posting Rule assigns premiums to employees when their schedule isn’t posted by a certain time.
Before You Begin: Configure a ruleset. See Add Rulesets to Schedule Change Policies.
To add rules to schedule change policies:
- Go to Schedule Setup > Schedule Change Policy and select a policy. A slide-out panel opens.
- In the Schedule Change Policy Rule Set Configuration section, select the ruleset that you want to add the rule to.
- Click the add icon (
) and then click Rule.
- Enter a name and, optionally, a description of the rule.
- Enter the rule’s effective start date and, optionally, an end date.
- Ensure that the Active checkbox is selected.
- In the Type drop-down list, select a rule and configure its settings. The settings are specific to each rule. See Schedule Change Rules and Qualifiers Library.
- Click Save. Dayforce applies the rule starting on the Effective From date.
Next steps:
- Configure reason codes to determine if a premium is payable or non-payable for a penalty. See Configure Schedule Change Reason Codes.
- (Optional) If your schedule change policy uses the Shift Lockdown Period Rule, you can add the Days Since Hire Date Qualifier to control when the rule runs.See Add the Day Since Hire Date Qualifier.
