Add Plan Payroll Mapping

Dayforce Implementation Guide

Version
R2025.1.1
Add Plan Payroll Mapping

(Canada only) In the Payroll Mapping tab of Benefits Setup > Plans and Options for health plan options, assigning the same earning code to both the Employer Cost/Contribution and Flex Credit Amount Used fields, results in Dayforce calculating the amount and showing the payroll election details in a single row in the Payroll > Payroll Elections screen in People. If you assign the earning code only to the Flex Credit Amount Used field, Dayforce calculates the amount based on the payroll schedule.

To add a payroll mapping for a plan:

  1. Go to Benefits Setup > Plans and Options.
  2. In the left sidebar, click the plan to which you want to add the payroll mapping.
  3. Click the Payroll Mapping tab and then click Add.
  4. Enter a name and, optionally, a description for the payroll mapping.
  5. In the Apply to Options field, select all of the plan options to which you want to apply the mapping.
  6. Under Employee Cost/Contribution, select a payroll code to which the employee cost, defined in the associated rate table, is mapped. Set this in the following fields:
    • Deduction
    • Earning
    • Imputed Income: The payroll earning code to which imputed income-calculated amounts (for group term life over $50,000) are mapped.
  7. Note: Dayforce only shows the Imputed Income field if the plan is based in the United States and the Apply Imputed Income checkbox is selected at the plan level.
  8. Under Employer Cost/Contribution, select a payroll code to which the employer cost, defined in the associated rate table, is mapped. Set this in the following fields:
    • Deduction
    • Earning
  9. (Canada only) Under Flex Credit Amount Used, in the Earning drop-down list, select the payroll code to map the flex credit amount used during enrollment. This field shows for benefit plans that are linked to flex credit plans.
  10. Configure the Payroll Election Date Offset section. See Configure Date Offsets for Payroll Elections.
  11. Click Save.
