If an employee has enrolled in a qualified pension scheme other than your organization's auto-enrolled pension scheme, you can add a notification record to this effect in the employee's profile in the Payroll > Pension screen of People. When this notification record is added, the employee isn't assessed again unless this record is ended, or the employee opts in.
A notification record can't overlap with any other pension record; that is, an employee can't have two pension records that are active within the same pay period. Also, if the employee has another active pension record, the date of the notification record can't fall in a pay period prior to that of the current record.
Dayforce automatically sets the record's pay period start date based on the notification date that you set. This date can be prior to the notification date.
You can add notification records for employees with the following worker category and member status combinations:
Worker Category | Member Status |
---|---|
Eligible Jobholder | Auto-Enrol |
Cease Membership | |
Opt-In | |
Entitled Worker | Cease Membership |
Inactive | |
Joiner | |
Non-eligible Jobholder | Cease Membership |
Inactive | |
Opt-In | |
Opt-Out | |
Joiner | |
No Employer Duty | No Employer Duty |
Other Qualified Scheme | Inactive |
Deferred | Postponed |
When you add a notification to indicate that an employee is enrolled in another qualified scheme, the record has the following attributes:
- Worker Category: Other Qualified Scheme
- Member Status: Inactive
- Notification: Other Qualified Scheme
To add a notification record indicating that an employee is enrolled in another qualified scheme:
- Go to People, open the employee profile, and click Payroll > Pension.
- Click Other Qualified Scheme in the toolstrip.
- In the dialog box that opens, enter or select a date in the Other Qualified Scheme Notification Received field. The date defaults to today.
- (Optional) In the Comments field, enter any notes.
- Click OK. Any other active pension records are ended one day prior to the pay period start date of the new record.
If you end this notification record, then the employee is assessed in the following pay period.
