As part of configuring a flat tax that overrides the default taxes Dayforce withholds for an employee, you need to add the flat tax override to the employee's tax definitions in the Flat Tax section of Payroll > Tax Definitions in People. You also need to assign a custom check template to the flat tax override.
Before You Begin: Select the flat tax override feature in the custom check templates you're planning to use in payroll entries. See Configure a Flat Tax Override in Custom Check Templates.
To add a flat tax override to the employee record:
- Go to People, open the employee profile, and click Payroll > Tax Definitions.
- In the Flat Tax section, click Add.
- Complete the fields. See Flat Tax Section Columns.
- Click Save.
You can now use the check templates in unscheduled payroll entries to apply the flat tax override on employee earnings.
