Add COBRA or Initial Notice Exports

Before You Begin: You need a Dayforce Link Receiver ID for this task. To get a Dayforce Link Receiver ID, contact your Dayforce representative.

To add a COBRA / Initial Notice type export configuration:

  1. Go to Integrations > Data Export Setup > Benefits Data Export.
  2. Click Add and select COBRA / Initial Notice in the drop-down list.
  3. Select an option in the Carrier drop-down list. The list shows carriers configured in Benefits Setup > Plan Carriers.
  4. In the Carrier / Vendor Export Name field, enter a name for the export file. This field is only for your reference and the field value isn't sent in the export file.
  5. Enter the receiver ID value defined by Dayforce Link in one or both Dayforce Link Receiver Id (COBRA Qualified Event) and Dayforce Link Receiver Id (COBRA Initial Notice) fields. You must enter at least one receiver ID.
  6. In the Effective From field, enter the earliest date that you want to run the export. If you want to run the export today, even for testing purposes, you must enter today’s date.
  7. Enter values in the rest of the fields as required by the carrier’s export specifications.
  8. Select the Send blank file checkbox to include the header and footer records if the export doesn't have any employees. If you select this checkbox, you must contact Professional Services to ensure that data maps are updated to receive the blank file.
  9. Select the Include supported non-ASCII characters checkbox to pass accented characters in the export files to Dayforce Link. If you select this checkbox, you must contact Professional Services to ensure that data maps are updated to receive the non-ASCII characters. Clear this checkbox to replace accented characters or non-ASCII characters in the export files.
  10. Click Save.
