Add Auto-Enrolled UK Pension Options

Important: A pension plan can only have one auto-enrolled option.

To add and configure the settings for an auto-enrolled pension scheme option:

Go to Benefits Setup > Plans and Options.
In the left sidebar, click Retirement to see all of the retirement plans.
Click the plan to which you want to add the option.
In the toolstrip, click Add > Add Option. Dayforce displays the option setup screen to the right.
In the General tab, configure the following settings:
1. In the Name field, enter the display name of the option.
2. In the Reference Code field, enter a unique ID for the option.
3. In the Beneficiaries drop-down list, the default selection is Do not Allow. Don't change this.
In the Contribution tab, configure the following required settings:
1. In the Option used for drop-down list, select Auto-Enrol. When you make this selection, the following settings are populated automatically, and you cannot change them unless you change this selection from Auto-Enrol to Other:
  - In the Option consists of drop-down list, the selection is Both Employee Deferral and Employer Contribution.
  - In the Deferral Amount Based On drop-down list, the selection is Percentage.
  - In the Percentage Specified By: drop-down list, the selection is Predefined, allow Employee Changes on Enrolment.
  - In the Contribution Based On drop-down list, the selection is Percentage.
2. In the Auto-Enrol Percentage field, enter the contribution percentage at which employees should be automatically enrolled in the scheme.
3. In the Minimum for % Election, enter the same value that you entered in the Auto-Enrol Percentage field.
4. In the Maximum for % Election, enter the maximum contribution percentage for employees. This value in this field doesn't preclude employees from contributing more to the pension scheme, however the field is required for the option setup.
5. In the Contribution Percentage field, enter the percentage contributed by the employer.
Click Save in the toolstrip.
