Add Additional Question Sections

Additional questions sections allow you to add one or more custom questions that were created in the Additional Questions tab of Performance Setup > Review Setup.

Before You Begin: The Sectional Weight and Rating Scale parameters are only used in additional question sections if you add at least one "Rating Scale" type question to the section.

To add an additional question section to a review form:

  1. Go to Performance Setup > Review Setup.
  2. Click the Review Cycles tab.
  3. In the Sections tab, click New and select Additional Questions.
  4. Enter a value in the Name field.
  5. This defines the name that is displayed in the section header in the review form.
  6. Enter a description of the section in the Description field. This value isn’t user facing.
  7. Enter instructions for the section in the Instruction Text field. This value defines the text that is displayed in the blue text box under the section heading.
  8. Enter a value between 0 and 100 in the Sectional Weight field, if needed.
  9. You must either configure weight for all sections of the form, or not configure weight for any sections (that is, leave the field cleared) of the form. If you don’t configure weight for any section, all sections have equal weight.
  10. If you added at least one "Rating Scale" type question, select an option from the Sectional Rating Scale drop-down list.
  11. Note: If you didn’t add at least one "Rating Scale" type question, the Sectional Rating Scale drop-down list is grayed-out. See Section Rating Scales.
  12. Click New to add a new row to the list at the bottom of the Additional Questions section.
  13. Select a question in the Short Name drop-down list, which displays the answer type in brackets for your reference. When you select a short name, the Question column (which is read-only) is populated automatically.
  14. Select the checkbox in the Response Required column to indicate that a response is required for that question in the review. The application displays Yes when you click outside of the column. If you clear the checkbox, a response isn’t required and Dayforce displays No in the column.
  15. When set to Yes, a red asterisk is displayed next to the question in the review form, and users must complete the question to submit the review. When set to No the red asterisk isn’t displayed and the question is optional.
  16. If you added any "Rating Scale" type questions, you must specify whether to include ratings and comments in the review:
    1. Select a rating in the Rating Scale drop-down list to allow this question to be rated in the review.
    2. If you selected a rating scale in the Rating Scale drop-down list, select the checkbox in the Rating Required column to indicate that a rating is required for that question in the review. The application displays Yes when you click outside of the column. If you clear the checkbox, a rating isn’t required and Dayforce displays No in the column.
    3. Select the checkbox in the Comments column to include a Comments field for that question in the review. The application displays Yes when you click outside of the column. If you clear the checkbox, a comment isn’t required and Dayforce displays No in the column.
    4. If you selected Yes in the Comments column, select the checkbox in the Comments Required column to indicate that a comment is required for that question in the review. The application displays Yes when you click outside of the column. If you clear the checkbox, a comment isn’t required and Dayforce displays No in the column.
  17. Click Save.
