The settings in Schedule Setup > Activities control how Dayforce shows activities in Schedules.
Setting | Definition |
---|---|
Is Non Service | Time scheduled to work this activity represents ‘non-service’ hours. This option is used only if your organization distinguishes between service and non-service hours in its labor budgeting and forecasting. If it does, hours worked against non-service activities are tracked against a different component in the labor budget when the checkbox is selected. |
Image Path | The image that represents the activity. The image that you select appears in Schedules whenever you schedule that activity. |
Image | Shows a preview of the image that you select in the Image Path drop-down list. |
Short Code | The single letter short code that represents the activity. Dayforce shows short codes on some reports, but they’re optional. |
Zone | The zone that the activity belongs to. If you select a zone, you can schedule the activity only to shifts scheduled in the corresponding zone. |
Hue |
The color that Dayforce assigns the activity:
|
Min Duration (minutes) |
The activity’s minimum duration. For example, if you enter 30, neither users nor the autofill function can schedule the activity for fewer than 30 minutes at a time. Note: The activity minimum duration depends on the Scheduling Interval Size property in the Scheduling section of the Properties tab in System Admin > Client Properties. Dayforce rounds the value specified in Min Duration (minutes) up to the nearest interval size specified in the Scheduling Interval Size client property. See Scheduling. |
Is Covered By Breaks | Controls whether scheduled breaks satisfy base coverage. If you select this checkbox, base coverage is satisfied by scheduled employees, even during their scheduled breaks. Clear the checkbox and additional employees are required to cover breaks. |
Is Covered By Meals |
Controls whether scheduled meals satisfy base coverage. If you select this checkbox, base coverage is satisfied by scheduled employees, even during their scheduled meals. Clear the checkbox and additional employees are required to cover meals. In the following screenshot, the Is Covered By Meals checkbox isn’t selected for the Decorating activity, so the labor curve shows a loss of coverage during the meal time:
|
Rank Value | The activity’s rank value. Dayforce uses rank values in staff assignment rules to order employees and unfilled shifts in the Find Candidate dialog box in Schedules. |
Reference Code | The activity’s cross-reference code. This code must be unique and must not contain special characters. |
