Activity Lookup Rule

After the Labor Driver Rule runs, Dayforce runs the Activity Lookup Rule. The rule takes the aggregated labor driver curve and converts it into activity labor demand curves. See Labor Driver Rule.

Activity Lookup Rule settings
Setting Description
Lookup table The lookup table that the rule uses to create the labor curve.
Rounding Threshold (0-1) The rounding that the rule applies at the end of the aggregation. Enter a number between 0 and 1 and, if the decimal portion of the value in the aggregated curve is greater than that number, then the value is set to the integer value further from 0. Otherwise, it will be the one closer to it. For example, if the rounding threshold value is 0.6 and the value is 4.7, then the rounded value is 5. If the value was -4.7 then it would be -5. If you don’t specify a rounding threshold, then the value is left as is.
Start Time
End Time
The labor curve’s start and end times.
Minimum Length (Minutes) The minimum length that a segment of labor requirements must be to be kept in the rule. For example, if an isolated segment of labor requirements span 180 minutes and the setting is set to 195 minutes, Dayforce discards the 180 minutes of labor requirements.
Labor Measures The labor measure to use when determining labor demand for the curve (for example, Employee Hours).
Activity The activity to assign to the labor curve. If you don’t select an activity, the labor curve will be at the store level. Select an activity and the labor curve will be associated with that activity and will also contribute to the store-level activity curve.
Output KPI for added hours The KPI used to record the hours that the rule adds to the labor demand curve. This setting works similarly to the Output KPI settings in the Base Hours Rule. If you use the same output KPI in multiple rules, then the hours that all of those rules add will be summed up in the KPI, including when the same KPI is used in the Base Hours Rule.
