This section controls how long the clock waits for interaction or input before timing out. For example, you can configure how long an employee has to enter their badge number or select a function in the supervisor menu before the clock times out and returns to the home screen. You can also set how long different information is shown on the clock.
Each timeout has the following attributes:
type
: The unique name that marks each timeout. The timeouts are listed in the sections below. Don’t edit these values.delay
: Controls how long the clock waits, in milliseconds, for that timeout.
The <timeouts>
section contains the following timeouts:
"badge_entry"
The timeout for entering badge numbers.
"status_display"
Controls how long status information is shown on the clock.
"info_display"
Controls how long employee information is shown on the clock.
"submit_punch"
Used in online mode to control how long the clock continues trying to submit clock entries before saving them as offline clock entries.
"supervisor"
Controls when supervisor mode times out.
"bio_identify"
The timeout for biometric verification.
"take_photo"
The timeout before the clock takes employees’ pictures.
"self_service"
The timeout for self-service features. When a feature times out, the application shows the clock home screen, rather than the self-service home screen, meaning that users have to re-enter self-service mode to access its features.
"photo_enroll"
The timeout for photo enrollment.
"screen_lock"
The timeout for the Lock Screen function in the Administrator Mode screen.
"hw_test"
The timeout for the Hardware Diagnostics function in the Administrator Mode screen.
"password_entry"
The timeout for entering passwords.
"wifi_setup"
The timeout for the Wireless Configuration function in the Network Setup menu of the Administrator Mode screen.
"punch_authorization"
The timeout for the Clock Entry Authorization screen.
"options_select"
Controls how long the multiple transfer screen is shown on the clock. The default is 15 seconds.
"test_communication"
The timeout for the Test Clock Communication function in the Administrator Mode screen.
"bio"
The timeout for fingerprint enrollment after an employee enters their badge.
For example, when set to 10000, the employee has 10 seconds to place their finger on the fingerprint scanner to start enrollment. If the scanner doesn’t detect a fingerprint after 10 seconds, the enrollment times out and the clock returns to the home screen.

The timeout for clock surveys.
