You can configure the Dayforce Touch Clock to use an Ethernet or wireless network connection. Administrators change network preferences using the Network Setup feature.
Note: Wi-Fi isn’t supported on Dayforce Tuff Clocks.
Connect to a Wireless Network
To connect to a wireless connection on the clock:
- Go to the Administrator Mode screen.
- Tap Network Setup.
- Tap Wireless Configuration.
- The clock shows a list of the networks you can connect to.
- Tap the network you want to connect to.
- When prompted, enter the network credentials.
- Tap Connect.
Note: When the clock loses its Wi-Fi connection, it automatically attempts to reconnect, and continues attempting to reconnect every ten minutes until the connection is restored.
Configure the Clock to Use a Static IP Address
By default, the clock uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). You can configure the clock to use a static IP address instead.
To configure the clock to use a static IP address:
- Go to the Administrator Mode screen.
- Tap Network Setup.
- Tap Ethernet Configuration.
- Clear the Use Dynamic IP Address checkbox.
- In the fields provided, enter the details for the static IP address.
- Note: Don’t enter leading zeros when specifying the static IP address.
- Tap OK.
Configure the Clock to Use a Proxy Server
Administrators can configure the clock to communicate with the application through a proxy server, either in the config file, described in Communication, or directly on the clock.
To configure the clock to use a proxy server:
- Go to the Administrator Mode screen.
- Tap Network Setup.
- Tap Proxy Configuration.
- When prompted, type the IP address and port for the proxy server:
