Network Setup

You can configure the Dayforce Touch Clock to use an Ethernet or wireless network connection. Administrators change network preferences using the Network Setup feature.

Note: Wi-Fi isn’t supported on Dayforce Tuff Clocks.

Connect to a Wireless Network

To connect to a wireless connection on the clock:

  1. Go to the Administrator Mode screen.
  2. Tap Network Setup.
  3. Tap Wireless Configuration.
  4. The clock shows a list of the networks you can connect to.
  5. Tap the network you want to connect to.
  6. When prompted, enter the network credentials.
  7. Tap Connect.

Note: When the clock loses its Wi-Fi connection, it automatically attempts to reconnect, and continues attempting to reconnect every ten minutes until the connection is restored.

Configure the Clock to Use a Static IP Address

By default, the clock uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). You can configure the clock to use a static IP address instead.

To configure the clock to use a static IP address:

  1. Go to the Administrator Mode screen.
  2. Tap Network Setup.
  3. Tap Ethernet Configuration.
  4. Clear the Use Dynamic IP Address checkbox.
  5. In the fields provided, enter the details for the static IP address.
  6. Note: Don’t enter leading zeros when specifying the static IP address.
  7. Tap OK.

Configure the Clock to Use a Proxy Server

Administrators can configure the clock to communicate with the application through a proxy server, either in the config file, described in Communication, or directly on the clock.

To configure the clock to use a proxy server:

  1. Go to the Administrator Mode screen.
  2. Tap Network Setup.
  3. Tap Proxy Configuration.
  4. When prompted, type the IP address and port for the proxy server:
