Install the Biometric Reader

Before You Begin: The installation process for the biometric reader isn’t fully localized in French.

The Clock+ currently supports the Lumidigm biometric reader.

To install the Lumidigm biometric reader:

  1. Copy the “CeridianBioServiceSetup.exe” file to the computer on which you plan to run the Clock+.
  2. Run the “CeridianBioServiceSetup.exe” file as an administrator by selecting the Run this program as an administrator checkbox in the Privilege Level section of the CeridianBioServiceSetup.exe Properties dialog box:
  3. Ceridian Bio Service Setup Properties dialog box, with the Compatibility tab open.
  4. Click OK to run the file. The InstallShield Wizard for the Ceridian Biometric Service is shown. Click through and finish the wizard. The application shows the Lumidigm Device Installer:
  5. Lumidigm Device Installer wizard which contains Next and Cancel options.
  6. Click Next and accept the end user license agreement:

  8. Click Next, and then click the Install button to confirm that you want to install the reader:
  9. Windows Security window confirming if you want to install the Lumidigm driver.
  10. When the installation is complete, you will see the following:

  12. Click Finish. The InstallShield Wizard for the Lumidigm device services is shown. Click through the wizard, accepting the license agreement and selecting the Complete install setup type. When everything is installed, you will see the following dialog box:

  14. Click Finish.
  15. Connect your Lumidigm scanner to this computer and verify that the driver installs successfully.
  16. Verify that the following services have started in the Task Manager:
    • LumiDvcSvc
    • Dayforce Biometric Service

Note: To troubleshoot issues with the biometric scanner, you can stop and restart the two services shown above. In addition, you can find the BiometricService.log file in the following location on your computer: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ceridian\Ceridian Biometric Service\Logs.
