Before You Begin: By default, Dayforce Touch Clocks aren’t shipped with a battery. However, batteries are available as an optional add-on.
Battery forming is required when you install a new battery on the clock to help prolong the battery’s life cycle.
To initiate the battery forming process:
- Go to the Administrator Mode screen.
- Type the administrator mode PIN.
- Tap Initiate Battery Forming.
The clock’s battery forming functionality behaves as follows:
- If battery forming isn’t already in progress, tapping the Initiate Battery Forming button starts the battery forming process and the clock shows the following message: “Battery forming has been started”.
- If you tap the Initiate Battery Forming button when battery forming is already in progress, the clock doesn’t initiate another forming process and shows the following message: “Battery forming is already in progress”.
- If the battery forming process has already been initiated and is still active, the Clock Information screen shows “Forming In Progress” in the Battery Status section.
- If the clock is using older hardware that doesn’t support battery forming, or if there is no battery installed on the clock, the Initiate Battery Forming button is disabled.
