To update the clock’s firmware, tap the Firmware Update button on the Administrator Mode screen.
You can update firmware either from an SD card or over the network:
- When updating the firmware from an SD card, the firmware file must be named “dftouch_upgrade.img”. Before the clock starts the update, it first saves all unsubmitted data (that is, clock entries, clock pictures, biometric templates, and picture templates) to the SD card. After the update is complete, it restores this data from the SD card.
- When updating the firmware online, the clock submits all unsubmitted data to the server before starting the update.
When the Dayforce Touch Clock downloads a firmware update, it verifies that the update matches the update on the server before running it on the clock’s firmware. If the updates don’t match, the firmware update process is abandoned.
