Before You Begin: This process applies only to Dayforce Touch Clock devices. When you select a clock device other than a Dayforce Touch Clock in Site Setup > Clock Devices, the Copy button in the toolstrip is grayed out and unavailable.
You can copy an existing Dayforce Touch Clock device that has already been set up in Dayforce. The application copies the device’s configuration as defined in Site Setup > Clock Devices, as well as the device’s clock device group, configuration group, relay schedule, and org unit assignments, which are assigned in Pay Setup > Clock Devices.
To copy a Dayforce Touch Clock device:
- Go to Site Setup > Clock Devices.
- Select a Dayforce Touch Clock device record. The Copy button in the toolstrip becomes available.
- Click Copy. The Copy Dayforce Touch Clock dialog box opens, displaying the original device’s MAC address and the first portion of the new device’s MAC address.
- In the New Device section, customize the second portion of the new device’s MAC address in the text field. You must enter six values in this field and place a colon (:) after the second and fourth values. Supported values include numerals “0” to “9” and letters “a” to “f” (both uppercase and lowercase).
- In the following screenshot, the text field is populated with a valid MAC address fragment:
- Click Copy. The application adds the copied device to the devices list and populates the Description field with the word “copy” to note that the record was copied from another.
- Edit settings for the copied record.
- Click Save.
