This section describes how to configure the clock program to match your organization’s needs. The clock program’s configuration impacts the clock’s behavior, such as the types of supported clock entries and whether the clock uses biometric validation, PIN validation, or picture capture.
It’s recommended that you perform this configuration on at least one test clock to confirm the functionality and configuration is appropriate. Then, publish the configuration to the rest of the clocks using the main application (as described below).
To configure the clock program:
- Go to Site Setup > Clock Configuration.
- In the Device Type drop-down list, select Dayforce Touch.
- In the Clock Configuration Group drop-down list, select a clock config group.
- The application shows the current configuration for that clock config group in the Configuration tab.
- In the Dayforce Touch Clock Configuration Override File section, update the necessary sections of the config file. You only need to include the parts of the file you want to override. The clock configuration automatically includes the other parts of the default configuration file (that is, the configuration specified in the Dayforce Touch Configuration File section).
- For more information about what functionality you can override and how to configure it, see Clock Program Library.
- When you are finished editing the custom configuration, click Validate.
- The application validates the configuration you specified. If it finds errors, edit the configuration and then validate it again.
- When validation completes successfully, click Publish to push the updates to the clock.
Note: Changes that you make to the config file aren’t reflected on the clock until the software has been updated. The clock updates its software automatically at the interval or time specified in the config file, but you can also update the clock software manually. See Maintenance.
