You can use relay control schedules to control when clocks open or close their relays, automatically.
A relay control specifies on which day of the week and at what time relays open or close. Relays can be set to open with a -1, to close with a 0 value, or to open for a specified period of time in milliseconds (any value above 0 the relay opens for the specified number of milliseconds):
In the example above, the DO1 relay opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 5:00 PM every day of the week.
You can configure as many schedules as you need in System Admin > Relay Control Schedules.
To configure relay control schedules:
- Go to System Admin > Relay Control Schedules.
- Click Add. The application adds a row containing the Schedules and Exceptions sub-tabs.
- Enter a name and description.
- In the Schedules sub-tab, click Add.
- In the Day of Week drop-down list, select a value.
- Select or enter a time in the Time of Day field.
- Enter a value that represents the action the DO1 or DO2 relay performs on the corresponding day and time in the DO1 Value and DO2 Value fields.
- Remember, relays can be set to open with a -1, to close with a 0 value, or to open for a specified period of time in milliseconds (any value above 0 the relay opens for the specified number of milliseconds):
- In this example, the DO1 relay is configured to open at 9:00 AM on Monday.
- Repeat steps 4 through 7 for each day of week and time that you want to schedule relays to open or close.
- Click Save.
The schedule you configure is applied to the specified days of the week, at the specified times, on a repeating basis. You can also configure exceptions to this pattern.
To configure exceptions:
- Go to System Admin > Relay Control Schedules.
- Click the arrow icon () next to the appropriate relay control record to expand it. Dayforce shows the Schedules and Exceptions sub-tabs.
- In the Exceptions sub-tab, click Add.
- In the Exception Date field, select or enter the date of the exception.
- Select or enter a time in the Time of Day field.
- Enter a value that represents the action the DO1 or DO2 relay performs on the corresponding day and time in the DO1 Value and DO2 Value fields:
- In this example, instead of opening at 9:00 AM on July 4, an exception was configured so that the DO1 relay is closed at 9:00 AM. This interrupts the normal schedule of opening the relay at 9:00 AM.
- The clock will open the relay the next day at 9:00 AM, according to the normal schedule.
- Click Save.
