In clock surveys, questions refer to the questions and statements that are presented to employees during interaction with the clock. After they review one or more questions or statements, they must submit a response to validate their action, such as a clock entry or work transfer, or view an informational message.
Note: Even though they’re styled as “questions” in Dayforce, you can configure customized statements and informational messages for clock surveys. Dayforce lists your customized statements and informational messages under settings that are marked as “questions” in clock survey features, even if they aren’t questions in practice.
You can configure the following types of clock survey questions and statements, among others.
| Question Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Question | A standard question with two response options. |
| Statement |
A declarative statements that still requires users to choose between one of two responses. For example, you can configure a statement such as the following: “I agree to follow local health guidelines to the best of my ability during my shift. This includes washing my hands every hour and sanitizing commonly-used surfaces.” Next, you can associate this statement with an answer type containing responses of “I agree” and “I disagree.” You can configure a clock survey to accept start-shift clock entries where employees select the “I agree” response. If the employees select the “I disagree” option, you can configure the clock to reject the clock entry. |
| Informational message |
An informational statement or message that doesn’t require users to choose between one of two responses. For these types of messages, the clock prompts the user with a message and they must close the message for the clock to accept their input. To configure an informational message that doesn’t require a response, you must associate the message with an answer type that’s configured with the Broadcast response type. |
You can create several customized questions and statements that are suited to your business needs in Site Setup > Clock Surveys > Survey Question Setup, in the Questions tab.
Role feature access: Site Setup > Clock Surveys > Survey Question Setup
Important: The Survey Question Setup subfeature also contains system-generated survey questions and statements. Dayforce has provided these system-generated questions and statements as an aid for some common survey scenarios. It’s your responsibility to ensure that any compliance requirements (such as minimum rest) outlined in the question or statement text are valid and applicable to your region. This applies to both customized and system-generated survey questions and statements.
Each question or statement that you create must be associated with an answer type that was configured in the Answer Types tab. There’s no limit to the number of survey questions or statements that an answer type can be associated with.
After you create survey questions and statements , you can assign them to clock surveys in Site Setup > Clock Surveys > Survey Setup.
