Clock In or Out

You can perform several types of clock entries on the Dayforce Clock Pro and Clock+:

  • Start and end shifts.
  • Start and end meals.
  • Start and end breaks.

Depending on your clock’s configuration, you can also clock in or out and perform specific actions. The steps for these clock entries are described later in this document.

To clock in or out:

  1. In the login screen, follow the prompts to log in.
  2. Complete any verification steps that the clock prompts.
  3. In the home screen, do one of the following:
    • If the clock function that you want to use is shown on the home screen, click the button.
    • Click View all clock functions to open the All clock functions dialog box. Find the clock function that you want to use and click it.
  4. If necessary, follow any prompts and interact with the clock to continue. For example, if you need to complete a clock survey, your clock entry won’t be accepted until you select a survey option.
  5. The clock indicates if your clock entry was accepted.

Clock In with Automatic Clocking

Your clock might be configured with an automatic clocking function where your clock entry is automatically submitted when you log in. If your clock is configured this way, the login screen indicates that your clock entry will be submitted after you perform a verification step. The verification step might involve entering your badge number, scanning your fingerprint, or standing in front of the camera for facial validation:

After you verify your identity, the clock records your time entry logically. For example, if you’re starting your shift, the clock identifies that this is your first clock entry for the day and records your clock entry as the start of your shift.

Depending on your clock configuration, you might have to perform another step after you log in. You might have to click the Logical Clocking button to submit your clock entry:

In this scenario, the clock also records your time entry logically but you have to submit the clock entry yourself.

To clock in using the automatic clocking feature:

  1. In the login screen, follow the prompts to log in.
  2. Complete any verification steps that the clock prompts.
  3. If the clock shows the Logical Clocking button, click it.
  4. The clock indicates if your clock entry was accepted.
